Peter and Katie set off to Vienna this week to launch our new wholesale range in Europe. They were showcasing “The Collection” – the bespoke range of pearl necklaces, pearl bracelets and pearl earrings – at the private residence of the British Ambassador to Austria. They have returned both thinking they are royalty!!

However, the trip was a huge success and we are in the process of finalizing agreements to supply a select number of small boutiques in and around Vienna as well as a niche gift shop in the Alps…our first mountain range!

“Try It On” (TIO) allows the customer a more realistic interpretation of her range of pearl and gemstone necklaces by superimposing the necklace on a model and then adjusting its position around her neck.
Elise comments “One of the greatest drawbacks to online shopping has always been how to give the customer a more realistic interpretation of how the piece might look to them as they stood in front of a mirror in the comfort of their own home. Our initial strategy was to enable our customer to upload their own image onto our site allowing them then to superimpose a necklace onto their own image -technically feasible but our focus groups strongly advised it was too complex for time restricted clients

All too frequently jewellery is depicted in a series of images which are either so sterile or artistic that they bear little resemblance to reality. To better meet the needs of the customer a series of meetings were held with our customer base in London and around the UK which identified a model image which met the criteria of face-on, hair-up, minimal make-up and more representative of every woman when she looks in the mirror every morning and wishes wistfully……………..”

Thanks for all your support for By Elise at the Gold Cup finals and at the Game Fair where we had a great few days and as you can see they even used my pearl chokers, pearl earrings and pearl necklaces for the fashion show.

We have a number of exciting new developments being launched over the next few weeks. “Try It On By Elise” is a major new development on how we portray pearl necklaces on the site. This will be followed by the launch of “The Collection By Elise” a wholesale range for selected stockists around the UK and overseas which will be exhibited at the trade show Top Drawer in London and at the British Embassy in Vienna where we have been invited to give an exhibition to buyers from over fourteen countries – very exciting!

We will launch our range of bridal jewellery and wedding jewellery in my range “Bridal By Elise” and this will be followed by a glamorous new piece of pearl jewellery “Unity By Elise” which will be launched in time for Christmas

In addition to the CLA Game Fair, Ragley Hall, Alcester, Warwickshire on the 23rd-25th July 2010 we have also committed to take a stand at the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup Finals, Cowdray Park, West Sussex on Sunday 18th July 2010 – I think I had better get designing some new pearl necklaces !

On Monday I visited Alison at “The Village Shop, Cowley Manor Hotel” in Gloucestershire which is ranked by Vogue magazine as one of the best boutiques in the UK and I can certainly see why – you must visit if you are in the area !!! Anyway we are delighted that they approached us to be a stockist and they are now supporting a selection of my pearl earrings, pearl necklaces and some silver hearts.

Hi all

I’m sitting in my studio writing this, the first quiet period since I came back from holiday I’m pleased to say! We have done a lot of thinking as to what form my designer jewellery will take this year particularly as I am off to Hong Kong, China and Japan shortly to source new freshwater pearls for my collection. The new range of pearl necklaces, pearl bracelets and pearl earrings must reflect the exciting new fashion trends for the summer. I will also be making a number of changes to the designer jewellery and how the website portrays designer pearls to most effect

As for Valentines Day I can see many of you have already made your selection from the handmade pearl jewellery but you still have more than enough time to give him the web address or better still call me in the shop 01937 835847……………!

Celebrated my mothers birthday on 19th January with a lovely dinner in Harrogate. Having recently had an operation she was on amazing form and wore a double strand of my deep grey keishi pearls receiving some fabulous comments. I think all of my family would, given the chance, ransack my studio and I wouldn’t see the handmade pearl jewellery again – Katie and Sarah especially!

I’ve just been on the most incredible holiday to Egypt, re-charged my batteries and managed to find some incredible pendants to incorporate into my necklaces and am now sat in the studio making some new pearl necklaces aimed towards spring/summer – bringing some flashes of fabulous colour to the incredible pearls I’ve found. Even though the weather is still dreary, spring is only round the corner – and bright jewellery definitely encourages a sunny disposition!
