About Elise
Elise Compson launched her jewellery brand "By Elise" in 2002 followed by her online Showroom in 2008 and a wholesale arm in 2010. Her ever growing national and increasingly international reputation for fashion led designer jewellery incorporating style, glamour and originality has meant her work is now available throughout the UK and since 2011 in Paris, Vienna, Moscow and the United States of America.
Texture and shape is paramount to each design and at times she creates pieces that have a sense of drama making them truly eye catching. The media have described it as "Classic with a Twist".
Hand Crafted & Limited Editions
There are five collections in the range:
- Exclusively Elise - Designed and created by Elise and hand strung here in the UK. These are one off pieces each one unique in its characteristics.
- Allegra Collection - 14 carat gold plate on 925 silver matched with gemstones and pearls. This range is selectively sourced by Elise to reflect the customers increased interest for gold plated jewellery.
- Pearl Gallery Collection - Baroque freshwater, Keshi’s, Coin, Tahitian and in a variety of colours
- Signature Collection - using a variety of selected gemstones offset with pearls
- Bridal By Elise - a collection of freshwater pearl jewellery designed for the bride, bridesmaids and the mother of the bride
In response to customer demand from our shows and exhibitions we have also added an Accessories by Elise category which includes some of the items available from our showroom.
With the majority of pieces the stones and pearls have been sourced, created and designed by Elise and hand strung here in the UK which makes them relatively unique in the luxury jewellery market. This integrity ensures each piece is crafted from the finest stones whilst designed to capture a woman's individuality. Her silver steering wheel clasp allows for infinite variety with or without detachable pendants so as to best suit the clients mood and preference
Silver and the Edinburgh Assay Office
United Kingdom legislation requires any item of silver above 7 grams in weight to be tested and certified as Sterling Silver which demonstrates a purity of 92.5%. The Edinburgh Assay Office who have been testing the purity of precious metals since 1457 undertakes this for By Elise by hallmarking each item and adding our unique makers mark of BE within an impressed heart. All our pieces are Sterling Silver other than items in the Capri Collection which are silver plated.
Pearl Jewellery
Pearls are at the heart of the By Elise Collection, it is their beauty and versatility which have been central to Elise's collections and have resulted in such critical acclaim in recent years.
By Elise freshwater pearls are selected for their colour, luminosity and iridescence. The colours range through a wide spectrum of soft cream and champagne to the bronze and brown. The pearls are usually chosen for their baroque nature where the texture and shape provides for a developed sense of style, fashion, fun and above all enjoyment. Nature allows immense diversity in pearl production and By Elise replicates many of these styles in her creations.

The Showroom

The Showroom of By Elise is situated near York in North Yorkshire convenient for the A1 motorway and two hours by rail from London’s Kings Cross Station.
